The Llacín pipe band, Conceyu Llanes, Asturies (Spain), begins in 1.998 in the Cultural and Etnographic Association of the same name in the village of Porrúa. It is situated in the municipality of Llanes and it emerges among the students of its School of Traditional Music. Besides this, the association holds a Medieval Market and it has also founded the Ethnographic Museum in the Eastern Asturies. It has created as well, other activities closely connected to culture such as the project of Cultural Town of Europe. This is a good reference for everybody who may be interested in knowing the history and customs in Asturias.
The band has been directed right from the beginning by Vítor Carbajal and by Nuria Tarodo. The band has rised from 28 members to the actual 87 ones. The themes they perform go through traditional to nowadays songs.
